WHAT IS YAGP?
Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) is the world’s largest student ballet competition that awards over $250,000 annually in scholarships to dance students worldwide.
In February 2024, a small group of Industry Dancers will attend YAGP competitions.
We are excited to provide this opportunity for our Cultivate ballet students at Industry Dance Company this year!
DETAILS & REQUIREMENTS:
Who is Eligible?
Industry Dance Company dancers ages 9-20 years old who are enrolled in our STARZ or Ballet Foundations Program (Levels 3 & Up) for the 2024-2025 season are eligible to compete for scholarships at YAGP.
YAGP age categories are divided as follows:
Senior (15-20 years old, born between January 2, 2004 and January 1, 2009)
Junior (12-14 years old, born between January 2, 2009 and January 1, 2012)
Pre-Competitive (9-11 years old between January 2, 2012 and January 1, 2015)
Senior division dancers are required to perform en pointe; junior division dancers will be on demi-pointe in flat canvas shoes. Dancers are not permitted to select their own solo, as they must comply to YAGP rules and regulations. Solos will be selected by instructors.
Enrollment for 2024-2025:
Enrollment for the 2023-2024 YAGP season is now closed. Details for 2024-2025 enrollment will be available following the competition in February. All dancers wishing to compete in 2025 will need to attend an audition in Summer 2024.
