WHAT IS YAGP?

Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) is the world’s largest student ballet competition that awards over $250,000 annually in scholarships to dance students worldwide.

In February 2024, a small group of Industry Dancers will attend YAGP competitions.

We are excited to provide this opportunity for our Cultivate ballet students at Industry Dance Company this year!

Who is Eligible?

Each entry will be placed in one of the following age groups. Ages are determined as of January 1 of 2026. Pre-competitive dancers are eligible to receive overall awards and scholarships to UBC competitions and UBC Workshops.

Pre-Competitive 7-8 years old

Primary Division 9-11 years old

Junior Division 12-14 years old

Senior Division 15-21 years old

Industry Dance Company dancers ages 7-20 years old who are enrolled in our Company or Ballet Foundations Program (Levels 3 & Up) for the 2025-2026 season are eligible to compete for scholarships at YAGP and UBC.

YAGP age categories are divided as follows:

• Senior (15-20 years old, born between January 2, 2004 and January 1, 2009)

• Junior (12-14 years old, born between January 2, 2009 and January 1, 2012)

• Pre-Competitive (9-11 years old between January 2, 2012 and January 1, 2015)

Senior division dancers are required to perform en pointe; junior division dancers will be on demi-pointe in flat canvas shoes. Dancers are not permitted to select their own solo, as they must comply to YAGP rules and regulations. Solos will be selected by instructors.

Enrollment for 2025-2026:

All dancers wishing to compete in 2025-2026 will need to attend an audition in Summer 2025.
