Ballet & Recreation Program Instructor
Madeleine continued her dance education at the University of Kansas, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. As a recipient of the prestigious Nordling Dance Scholarship and Elizabeth Sherbon Dance Scholarship, she trained in various styles and techniques including ballet, pointe, modern, jazz, contemporary, tap, hip-hop, east indian, and flamenco.
Madeleine was a member of the University Dance Company for four years, which gave her the opportunity to perform works by esteemed choreographers and guest artists from all over the world such as Melissa Thodos, KT Nelson, Patrick Suzeua, Muriel Cohan, Lindsay Hawkins and Mariana Oliveira. She has worked professionally with Melissa Thodos and Laura Gates of Thodos Dance Chicago, as well as Brenda Way and KT Nelson of Oberlin Dance Collective, and performed in their touring productions.
In her final year at KU, she was appointed vice president of the University Dance Company and Guest Artist Liaison. Madeleine never stops striving to further her education, and has received training at Giordano Dance Chicago, Kansas City Ballet and Radio City Rockette Intensives.
Over the past few years she has taught and choreographed for studios in the Kansas City and Lawrence, KS areas. Madeleine became a professional teaching artist for Kansas City Ballet’s Reach Out and Dance (R.O.A.D.) Residency and Scholarship program, a program developed by their Community Engagement and Education Department, in which she was also the administrative assistant.
Madeleine is extremely blessed to return home and share her passion for dance with the students at Industry Dance!
